We are an Ontario region club under the German Shepherd Schutzhund Club of Canada, located in Port Hope. Dan Thomey is the President, and Ryan Roseborough is the Training Director. Ryan has over 20 years of experience, and also offers private training through his school Ryestone K9. The club offers all levels of Schutzhund training including obedience, tracking and personal protection. Currently, there are about 20 members, and about 40 dogs of many different breeds. There is excellent camaraderie amongst the members, and those who are more experienced will happily share their knowledge. Many of the dogs are titled, and we use motivational methods ONLY. About once a year, we hold trial events and seminars on our grounds.

With very few exceptions, we meet every Sunday. During winter months, training is done at the indoor Ryestone K9 facility close to downtown Port Hope. When the warmer weather arrives, outdoor training begins. Starting at 9am, there is tracking training at a field on a sod farm, close to the club's Dale Road location. Right after that, obedience training starts at the main field. Next, we break for BBQ lunch and refreshments available for a few dollars. Finally, at approximately 2pm, personal protection training begins. Tuesday and Thursday evenings, we also meet for just obedience and bitework. To arrange a visit, please contact Dan Thomey.
